Agenda for August 11th Meeting

Tomorrow night, August 11th, is our next NSAI Charlotte Meeting.  As always it will be held at The Well, 220 Main Street, Pineville, at 7:00 p.m. and we will go until 9:30 p.m.

We will be having what has always been a very popular meeting of Show and Tell, and will be led by our Head Coordinator Fiona McAllister. We will all be given the opportunity to share with the group what we have been up to musically. If you have learned some new songwriting technique, discovered a new rhyming website, bought some new songwriting software, learned how to use a drum machine in your songwriting, started recording a CD, bought an awesome songwriting book  – anything you want to share with the group, especially if you think it might help the rest of us, bring it to the meeting.  Be sure and bring a note pad with you…it is guaranteed you will go home with lots of interesting tips!!

For example, how often should an amateur singer songwriter change their instrument’s strings? And why?  Where do all the professional instructors from the Swannanoa Gathering buy their strings?  And why?  What’s the newest, greatest tuner taking Snarks place and when it’s on your instrument your audience can’t see it, but you can?!

Please remember that at the end of our meetings there will be time for song critiques, so bring any song you are working on or have finished, and twenty copies of your lyrics to each meeting. Also, please feel free to bring your family and friends to any and all meetings.  Will will provide snacks, coffee, and water.

Our goal is for us to go home having learned something, shared some music, been heard, and feeling better than when we arrived each month.

PS:  Next month is our quarterly Songcircle!!!  It’s the September kick off to Fall Songcircle.  We will have Fall cookies and brownies and of course, the best part, everyone’s great songs!!!

Misty Simpson, Steve Simpson, Fiona McAllister, Bobby Davis
