Next Tuesday night, January 12th, is our next NSAI Charlotte Meeting. As always it will be held at The Well, 220 Main Street, Pineville, at 7:00 p.m., with Susan, and we will go until approximately 9:30 p.m.
Last year, we saw NSAI Charlotte triple our membership numbers and we branched out doing things we’ve never tried before, such as seasonal in house song circles, giving us a chance to really get to share our music with one another. Also, having more local professionals teaching most of our classes, such as Julie Dean teaching her amazing voice lesson and Glenn Selby teaching one of his CPCC songwriting lessons, then blowing us all away with his song critiques, etc… Every month was filled with something great, and we thank our members for being excited and showing up, thus keeping us excited to serve you. We became a family!
Now going into 2016, it is going to be even better! We, the coordinators, have some great things lined up for the group, a few hints: teacher favorites from last year will be back; a NSAI house concert to raise money to send people to the TMP, who otherwise could not go out to a night of music; NSAI songwriter round(s) at the Evening Muse; songwriting professionals skyped in from Nashville; of course our seasonal song circles will be back! But, we also want to hear from you, our members, about anything you’re interested in learning, so the month of January is us telling you what we have planned and you telling us what you would like in the coming year.
Since December was our Christmas party you all have had an extra month to work on songs, we will have an extended time for song critiques. Bring any song you are working on or have finished and twenty-five copies of your lyrics to each meeting. Please feel free to bring your family and friends to any and all meetings. We will provide snacks, coffee, and water.
Our goal is for you to go home having learned something, shared some music, been heard, and feeling better than when you arrived.
