The following is a Summary of what we have coming up over the next six months at NSAI Charlotte.
For full details on any of the below events, please go to our Website at NSAICharlotte.com or our Facebook page NSAI Charlotte. Unless otherwise stated, all events will take place at our normal meeting place, The Well in Pineville, with Susan hosting. The Well is located at 220 Main Street, Pineville, NC 28134. As we go along and more is added an updated list will be published.
April 12th, Julie Dean, will be teaching a Master Class on Voice/Performance Techniques. Then as always, song critiques by members.
April 16th, Michael Reno Harrell, the Star of PBS, Free Workshop, entitled “How To Turn A Story into A Song and then How to Perform It”. This exciting workshop will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and will include a lite lunch. Micheal will then be performing at the TMP later that night.
May 10th, Legendary singer/songwriter Si Kahn, will lead our meeting. We will have an intimate evening of Si sharing his stories and songs with us. He will also be staying and participating in our song critique portion of our meeting.
June 14th, Will be our very popular kick-off to Summer song circle with some very talented guest joining us, who are sure to inspire our group! As with all of our song circles, if you want to have your song critiqued, just let us know before playing it.
July 12th, We will have Glenn Selby back, as asked for, to lead us in a night of extended song critiques.
August 9th, Everyone’s favorite and most knowledgeable Coordinator, Fiona McAllister, will be teaching this months lesson. Then as always, song critiques by members.
August 12th, Friday night song circle and jam that will be held at an intimate club house not far from The Well. Food will be provided and all you have to do is bring your instruments, a plus one, if you would like, and whatever you would like to to drink (BYOB). This allows us to play with no time restraints, which gives us more time as a group to share music, stories and laughter!
September 13th, Summer is over and we are having our very popular kick-off to Fall song circle. As with all our group song circles, if you want to have your song critiqued, just let us know before playing it.
As with all of our meetings, please feel free to bring family and friends. We provide snacks for free and drinks for a donation of your choosing. We hope you go home having learned something, shared some music, been heard, and feel better than when you arrived.
We want to thank Doak Turner for starting NSAI Charlotte 20 years ago, and his continued love and support of our group. Also, Greg Baker for volunteering to do sound for our Michael Reno Harrell Workshop this Saturday and all he does for the TMP.
